Krishna
Poem
A vast serenading air caressed the heart,
A lute was in the breeze with dancing notes,
Sweet bugles proclaimed love’s conquest.
Birds bright plumed with crested crowns,
Hurried through bough and thicket carrying
Happy rumour on melody’s beaks
And feathered bosoms swelling with love.
An airy procession, a joy’s ruckus unleashed.
Beauty scattered its sweet burden,
An ache of love swelled to poignancy,
Sorrow from deep burrows emerging fled.
All seasons gave way to rapture
And silent spectacle of that moment.
All was divine in Sri Krishna’s hour.
