The Poise of Savitri -2

The Poise of Savitri -2

Poem

The first sure words of human genius,
Poured from mind as a torrent impervious,
The pattern followed of epic and lore,
Of beginnings and mind the muse implore;
The recognition of originating force and drift,
Enabling the tale and its destined plot;
As when a pious heart bows in silence
To his ancestors, lands and gods in obeisance,
For powering his heart and mind and arms,
Shielding his air with will from covert harms,
An unseen auspicious aura lingers over
The noble and destined of inborn power.
So began the tale with a symbol dawn,
In long night of the Void a divine morn.
Dwelling on plot and its character’s symbol,
He found those powers to him whisper and tell,
The ancient secret of their being and evolution,
Their path through doom beyond imagination,
And now proudly stationed on heaven’s border,
By world-scanning higher sight aiding all ardour;
There they stood Aswapati, of tapasya Lord,
And Savitri, of Sun, its saving sword as Word.
A jostling of forces was about his chamber,
Each told their forgotten deeds of living wonder,
All he heard, all was parsed, all was felt,
On sheaf by pen and ink a fluid trace dwelt.

Note: An experimental evolving verse on Savitri. Will be continued.
