Scar of Light

Scar of Light

Scar of Light

A Sonnet

Thou hast marred my pristine night
Engraved on me a scar of light.
My safe doom is now oppressed
A stain of light on me impressed.

My dark robe of slimy gloom
Can sway no more without room.
My wasting song and cup of woe
Is emptied now, no acts in tow.

My dark diamond that gulped light
Is now mute, slinking from sight.
What deed dire in distant time
Has breached this fortress mine?

How dost Thou remember for eternity
My long forgotten call for Thy serenity?
