Not Again

Sonnet-An Invocation to the Master #266

Oh Thou art not what Thou seemest,
A tranquil visage and silver maned,
Calm browed gaze and a halo blest
Ringing Thy being of celestial gold.

A tyrannous will is Thine unyielding,
A harsh intolerant light is Thy truth,
Villainous Thy mind ever scheming
To dislodge the basis of our mirth.

A tumultuous ocean is Thy heart
Brooding and plotting desired ends,
Thy means breach every contract
Known immemorially to be Nature’s.

Harsh as Thou art, toying with our lives,
What recourse to us in a mindless universe?!

PS:
Oh not again, serenade me no more O Tyrant,
My last remaining throbs must be unfooled spent.
