Thy Words

Thy Words

Sonnet — An Invocation to The Master #249

What hast Thou poured in Thy words
That it must baffle and allure me so?
What light is in there that veiled lurks
To cajole us out of our human ‘no’?

To each Thy tome I offer pilgrimage
In slow perusal and growing wonder,
I perambulate each sentence’s marge
Seeking its purport to humbly capture.

Only a little of Thy drift mind has caught,
The heart born ardent gains a little more,
But all I have mused upon is yet insufficient
Of Thee who exceeds our hemisphere.

Of all my lights Thine I deem to be the best,
Only now raise me to sanctuary of Thy feet.
