Origin of Song
Poem
Not to lips that sing belong
The rising notes of lofty song
But to the high muse within
Where inspiration doth begin,
There in a chamber beyond thought
All its mighty notes are wrought.
For not in prosaic words are heard
All the grand musings of God,
The poet but His thought catches
In the tremendous labour of verses,
So He the origin of all song
That a little human heart can sing.
