Poem

Rejoice O soul, rejoice now and forever,
For we sailed through seas of many lives,
Endured angry storms and a thousand ills
To glimpse our home of diamond shore.

Rejoice O soul, rejoice O traveller far,
By body’s hull and white furled heart,
Through surging waves by careful art
To our sylvan abode we are near.

Rejoice O soul, rejoice O lonely star,
No more we vainly row for the Night,
A better destiny is now in our sight,
The winds of whimsy all now disappear.

Speak well of us O soul to Him;
Through our foibles, our errant means,
Through our stumblings, our vacant dreams,
We ferried thee to thy golden home.

Remember O soul, thy body, life and mind,
They remain keen for Him thou must remind.
