A Sonnet

Dawns like this, besieged by Thee,
Mind in a swirl and heart afire,
My un-armoured night, breached stealthily,
Guarding reason asleep, my desires flee.

Seems no prayer, this fervour new,
I wander everywhere, seated here within,
All colours have fled, save Thy blue,
When didst Thou visit, when did this begin?

To shed my will, by this spirit-winter,
No method nor care, I only desire Thee.
All savour is dead, if to Thee I compare,
To Thee am bound, but strangely free.

O Stranger, O Beloved, where lingerest thou,
Whether zenith or abyss, lead me there somehow!
