Krishna Cometh

Krishna Cometh

A Sonnet

Painting by Priti Ghosh

The din grows loud, disarray roams
In noble attire seeding its chaos.
A madness has possessed all minds,
Each to himself the rule of fiends.

Temples are toppled, gods left bare,
The houses that rule are without care.
A pestilence roams freely culling,
Lives like cattle as a butcher doth bring.

The battle has begun in Age of Kali,
For the future to arrive in a hurry.
No lamp exists with a sure lustre,
In this age of transition without order.

Thus I slipped into waking world of breath,
Hearing the words, ‘Krishna cometh, Krishna cometh’.
