Set Free
A Sonnet
On a treacherous terrain of frosty slopes,
Deep ravines that swallow souls and hopes,
A malefic black dragon its talons sharpened,
Plunged into hero-flesh and his term ended.
His body wept blood on white pristine snow
And soul rued the valour it couldn’t show.
The deceit was quick, slimy and deadly,
The dragon would pay for adventure dearly.
Like Baji’s men for a living Shivaji unleashed,
The platoon sprung like a possessed fury-horde.
Each a ten seemed with ten pairs of arms,
A blazing heart powered blood curdling roars.
The pall of hesitancy fled in that melee,
Enemy head, limb and souls were set free.
