Brotherhood

A Sonnet

In a pristine lab of scientific will,
A coat of white masked all ill.
A tiny parcel of engineered malice,
That could multiply without notice.

A force birthed from a darkened mars,
Rippled through men in rabid waves.
New pestilence from the womb of night,
Halts the world in a miserable plight.

The clocks are halted, the gears
Now roused the spectre of human fears.
Man the animal wears again the crown,
Of death and disease, the demon’s own.

In this night, stood a brotherhood of light,
Who raised their wills and armour to fight.
