Hush now then O hungry beak,
Here is heartflesh for thy hunger
Rich with the wine-red fervour
Stewed fine in an ardent bosom-cask.
Hush now then O eager talon,
Tear this tree of subtle feeling
Or claw the life-sap for moistening
Thy parched frame by thirst won.
Hush now then O bare wing,
Strip thoughts for thy feather
Stitched by sinews together
And soar skies of thy musing.
All lives and selves are for thy hunger given,
Raise now the banner of victory upon my ruin.
