I Am Free

I am free, I am free,
Absolved of intent and ambition,
They egg me no longer into action,
I merely am, placidly.

I am free, I am free,
Unmoved by sting of desires,
A mere mirage drifting upon my senses,
I merely am, augustly.

I am free, I am free,
Beyond the callings of the world
From ruby-wine lips and bosoms proud,
I merely am, sagely.

I am free, I am free,
Like a new-born prone and nude
In this world cruel and crude,
I merely am, purely.

Oh but these virtues were never mine plainly,
For am marooned in my Master’s will, my hermitage and prison solitary.
