Sonnet — An Invocation To The Master #366
Not to be sheathed is the sword forged,
Nor heroes for the hearth fire made,
Not to be unkissed a maiden’s lips,
Nor remain unsighing hearts of lovers.
Not for mundane reality alone is mind,
Nor to dream dreams never dreamed,
Not for a piffling passion is the heart
Nor for lame sketch of adoration’s art.
Not for devotion alone is the sage,
Nor for purse of bright knowledge,
Not for visions alone is the seer,
Nor for the bounty of enduring power.
Hence, never must remain unsung Thy glory,
Nor will cease my worshiping verse for Thee.
