O Dawn

O Dawn

Sonnet — An Invocation to The Master #100

Today O Dawn, thou shalt not be nameless,
For thou doth mark the moment through ages
When vain recurring cycles ceased to be
By slow shattering shackles to set us free.

O Dawn, mid-wife of our ever growing Day,
Healing the abyss, diminishing Night’s sway,
Ancestor of our glorious noon earth crowning,
Initiator in deed of our long hopes dreaming.

O Dawn, purple-robed marvel over horizon
Heralding the destiny of our ancient Nation,
Thou who witnessed the Immutable’s birth,
He who recast destiny of this sordid earth.

I name thee hence Gatekeeper of the Sun,
Thus bound in name to Him be known O Dawn.
