Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge

Sonnet

How abrupt are all the yogas of old
Inciting the mind to turn upon itself
Or reining breath to rhythmic mould,
For will to be no more sense’s serf.

But wither the leap of mind high above
Leaving breath and body in time’s fold
To age woefully into a measly grave
And soul’s whole story remains untold.

But now is upended that ladder’s scheme
By He who fashioned the rainbow bridge,
We walk holding guardrails of His dream
This impossible pathway on Time’s ledge.

Upon this road only a single chant is heard,
“Sire, Sire precipitate in us the God.”
