Story Teller

Sonnet

I once ventured in the amber groves of memory
Reviewing the embattled journey of my story.
Such rich fossils I found of loss and pain,
Of woe and regret in sharp relief remain.

Joys there were sparse and far removed
In the little nugget moments from boyhood.
Also were there the scintillating moments
When calls from beyond reached my tenements.

Through all these I found a web woven
Of the ego and its fragile walled domain.
All these withered away to a whiff of Spirit,
Of all that long travail I now stand bereft.

Script me anew O venerable Story Teller,
Upon my pristine page Thy flourish deliver.
