O Reverent-Flame

O Reverent-Flame

Sonnet

A bonfire blaze burns away my dross,
Howling and writhing arise the instincts gross.
All the greys and blacks are now evicted,
By the judgement of Agni are convicted.

This inner gale passes within in silence,
I watch its ruinations in mute reverence.
My body has turned into a bloody bridge,
Bearing assault troops and their trudge.

Through this battle high above is held aloft
The silent might flame within my heart
Casting an unearthly light on all below,
A lighthouse of the Spirit for will to follow.

O Reverent-Flame, O Battler-Supreme,
May all these lead to Thy poise serene.
