O King

O King

Sonnet

What magic in me hast Thou wrought
Thy slow miracle’s bright change brought?
I grow mellow like a full moon
In Night by myself, radiant, alone.

Alchemist, what fine repertoire of wills
Is hoarded in Thy infinity of divine skills?
How dost Thou lead us through unerring,
Through our stumbles with patience enduring?

My hundred rebellions are all quelled,
My dalliances with time have ended.
I feel the heart’s occult gates open,
Rended are the veils one by one.

O King, Emperor of my soul,
Am all Thine in part and whole.
