Dissolve Me Now
A Sonnet
Chaitanya
By what chance of miracled destiny
Had Thou entered this life of me.
Like a soft unfolding of a flower
I now call Thee Krishna my Lover.
Apparatus had I none, nor ardour
Only a feeble will to be Thy paramour.
By winding and perilous ways
I have been borne by Thy grace.
Why hidest Thou from me still
Have I not purged all littleness and ill?
Be not so high and severe O Krishna
Speak to us as Thou didst to Arjuna.
The pitch is raised, so dissolve me now
Leave but Thy name, O pristine Love.
