Renew

Renew

A Sonnet

Like the Rishi Vishwamitra of yore
An aspiring valour of ancient lore.
To relentlessly attempt and forever mine
To seek our recompense in a sap divine.

The tug of gods to distant heaven
Held back by roots all earthen.
The twin-poles of our daily rhythm
Within here are all we can fathom.

All gesture that carries meaning
And thought that meanders dreaming.
By an alchemist will can godward turn
By humble labour His kinship earn.

In each moment, by a relentless will
We renew our pact, to follow Him still.
