The Pygmy Mind

The Pygmy Mind

A Sonnet

The modern intellect, unwise and untempered
With its theories all mind invented.
Pronounce their claims with braided words
Arcane their speech, spellbound the herds!

Scientists, men and women of science
Repeat their lore, and us do convince.
Our body a vial for chemicals to stir
Yielding a dream and the dreamer.

A pygmy mind cobbles by light and stone
Apparatus that would soon eclipse the One.
“This I have mastered”, gloats the mind
And in five score years grinds to an end!

The body a lab and a field of experiment
For half-truths seen by the half-blind to implement.
