Unequal Passions

Unequal Passions

Sonnet — Daily Poetry for The Master of Works #65

Sri Krishna, courtesy Midjourney

A precipitous fall into the fields of being
Through jagged channels of mortal birth,
To emerge helpless, serrated and crying
With a stark new clueless human sheath.

To endure hazards of the writhing years
Coiling through portals of day and night,
Enroute met the plots of ill and ignorance
Turning the tread into a struggle and fight.

The peaks turned crimson by passions bled
And the grim grey valleys taunted with hope;
All was endured and all the maze traversed
With solely Thy name for our heart to sup.

But how unequal are our passions O Beloved,
Purchasing our blood and tears with Thy one glance and nod?!
