Make Name

Make Name

Sonnet — Daily Poetry for The Master of Works #14

A black residue pervades herein
That glues all parts to a nescience;
The gazing eye is caught therein
And must struggle with drooping lids.

The mind o’er skies of thought
Can soar no more being chained
Within this body’s prison gate
Leaving its musing wings atrophied.

The awareness wavers on a borderland
Twixt a nullity and a dismal twilight,
Like a sailor away from shore of dread
I row my oar to a desperation’s beat.

O come hither in Thy saving grandeur,
Make name for Thyself as my sole saviour!
