Thy Music

Sonnet — An Invocation to The Master #120

A conspiracy was brewed in the twilight
When malevolent night vouchsafed for day
A firm seeding in me of woe and plight
To be reaped as pain from life and body.

A siege was upon me, battered my belief,
To moat of hope was breached, the ramparts
Of will blinded by sudden confusion’s bluff,
Leaving mere human means as recourse.

This grim experiment enacted on me
Has scattered materials of hidden sacrifice,
Once more I must gather factors naturally
For thus is established that subtle poise.

Whilst I venture this cave of events
Sound Thy music for me O Lord of Ages.
