Silence
Sonnet — An Invocation to The Master #64
Mute am I to utter a beseeching word,
A single cry to span the distance
That betwixt Thee and I doth stand,
Oh I must resort to miming silence.
In daily gestures I make my calling
To Thee as those of speech robbed,
But these endure not transcription,
For heart’s lingo is seldom translated.
Hence all script in heart’s book
I have erased to pure emptiness,
This slender tome Thou must take
And write for me Thy messages.
I shall stand now guarding the silence,
None shall interrupt in me Thy writings.
