How to Defeat a Falcon( a Sea-Creature & an Asura)
Poem
A proud falcon I met once on my way,
With a soft beat in its feathery breast,
‘A mile I dived to my meal wrest’,
It said, ‘None a steeper dive can try!’
Then vision loomed of a sea creature
Seeming born in dark deep ocean,
All scaly and wily and sans emotion,
‘My single moment can hundred falcons better!’
A coarse laughter rumbled in realms
Issuing from abyss’ endless depravity,
‘I am the Asura, lord of night and every cry,
None deeper plunge for woe and tears!’
All grew silent then, even heavens
Dared not that steep ruinous fall,
Leaving unanswered all misery’s call
In spite of penance and repentance.
And then appeared man ever confident,
Armed with mind and thought’s sweep
Confounding bird and Asura of abyss deep,
In each thought-step fell stupidly low and all defeated!
