Appearances

Poem

Above the furore and the din,
Above the savage and the benign.

Ranges of calm and a silence,
 Ranges untouchable by the Nescience.

Am made wider and slower,
Tugged by many a hidden lever

Lugging burden mine and more
By rocky paths of a human shore.

A lone camp on an empty beach,
A sole flame only within reach,

Makes the silence tad hospitable
 In this vast otherwise uninhabitable.

The night wind’s howl alarm
 The storm’s near approaching harm,

The cold moon behind clouds,
 Sombre visage in silver shrouds.

The sky, lumbering Titan unhelpful
 Unyielding to any pleas hopeful.

The stars like gods silent pass
 Weighing aloof my solitary enterprise.

Be as it may the winding road
 Besides remains the secret God.

Through myriad appearances is won
Transmuting touch of the golden Sun.
