Poem

I am not inconstancy, the anaemic attention unsteady,
I am not vacillation, the drifting somnolent will,
I am not inertia, the mute inconscient sleep,
I am not doubt, the soiler of observations,
I am not reason, the dwarf cross-eyed explainer,
I am not ambition, the food of feeble-willed,
I am not contentment, the curtailer of possibilities,
I am not conjecture, the imaginer of causal roads.
All these I became as Thou didst to me ordain,
These mine selves await now their transformation.
