A Vedāntin Learns

A Vedāntin Learns

In the flush of youth was I a Vedāntin
My mind spired beyond common din.
I rose higher and the air got rare
Into idea-worlds of beauty beyond compare.

But where was the Boy and his charm
Wondered my Vedāntin, who knew no harm.
Mind was king but the Vital and Body said
“Take us with you, then the Boy can be had!”

I returned then to my common company
With my life and body began a new journey.
I mused and served, lived and savoured
Realised how I was variedly favoured.

My life is a joyful litany of rituals now
And near is the Boy and his charm somehow!
