I happened to take a peep at the TV today. Was rather forced to, dinner was served right in front of it. And had the misfortune of seeing snatches of “Great Indian Laughter Challenge”, a joke of a program..which any sane minded people would do well to avoid.
But I do subscribe to the idea that one man’s humor could be another’s stupidity, so I thought to myself its best to turn away. To ignore stupidity steals its ability to irritate you.
And then I saw it. The logo of the program was that of Atlas bearing the world…?? Atlas bearing the world?? As logo for a program titled Indian Laughter Challenge?? What were these guys thinking?
How does one interpret this? That one can laugh even in the face of horrible challenges like what Atlas faced? That Atlas was laughable because he lifted the damn thing in the first place! What were the designers thinking? And why choose a Greek symbol!??
I can understand abstract logos. Or ones that use artistic liberty liberally. Or even ones that have the aura build around them through marketing dollars. But this??!!
If I have been unfair here, can you please explain what it could mean?
